Throughout my career, my bread and butter has been live event videography. I have shot and edited numerous weddings, dance recitals, and other special events, but my strengths are in giving an exciting cinematic presentation to more spectacular events, such as concerts and theatrical performances. Below are a few of my favorites.

GVSU FILM AND VIDEO SHOWCASE (2008)
LIVE EVENT PLANNING AND PRESENTATION
Grand Valley State University's Film and Video program hosts an annual showcase of student work. This past year, I was elected to be on the committee and took that as an opportunity to raise the bar on the event for the entire program. The rest of the committee and I changed the showcase from a simple gathering in a lecture hall where a presenter fed DVDs to the projector into a gala event complete with a stand-up comedian MC, catering, theatrical lighting, and even an award ceremony (hosted by yours truly). The packed house unaminously agreed that this was the best showcase in the history of the program. |

FREEZEPOP (2005-2006)
LIVE CONCERT DVD
Fans of the videogames Guitar Hero, Amplitude, and Frequency will recognize this synthpop trio from Boston. I shot and edited two of their concerts at the Autobahn Electronic Music Festival in 2006 and 2007, complete with an intricately animated DVD menu complimenting the band's retro-future style.

LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST (2006)
LIVE THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE
Following up the suceess of the DVD of The Servant of Two Masters, the Love's Labour's Lost DVD improved on the previous video in almost every way. With this, I got shooting live theatrical productons down to a science. I also packaged this 2-disc video in a professional case and printed full-color graphics across both discs for a truly gorreous presentation. |

TRAVELOGUE (2006)
LIVE CONCERT DVD
While at Autobahn shooting Freezepop's second DVD, analog synth duo Travelogue approached me about doing a similar video. Their antiqued technology was a joy to point a camera at making this video one of the more eccentric and remarkable entries in my catalog. |

THE JESSE WILLIAMS EXPERIENCE (2006)
LIVE CONCERT DVD
Percussionist Jesse Williams delighted his audience with an hour-long set of masterful performances across a wide array of instruments, ending the night with a jazz fusion jam. I was able to shoot this event with two cameras giving Jesse and his fans something to experience long after the lights went off. |

THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS (2005)
LIVE THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE
Grand Valley State University's excellent production of The Servant of Two Masters was shot using three cameras with my distinct multi-angle style turning this stage performance into a rewatchable television event. This particular DVD has been a tremendous success as it has been distributed to classrooms all over the country as an example of a production done right.

DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. (2005)
LIVE SHOW DVD
Mobile Ed Production's captivating biography of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is now recorded on DVD professionally shot with three cameras and edited to be a fully watchable show. Many times the appeal and essence of a live performance is lost when brought to video, however I shoot with a cinematic style incorporating multiple angles and changing shot types within each camera to create the illusion of many more cameras. |
